The Worshipful Company of Wales
The Company motto, Service for the Benefit of Wales / Gwasanaeth er Bydd Cymru set out in the Company Crest sums up the pride with which the Worshipful Livery Company of Wales meets its objectives by providing awards, travel scholarships and bursaries and assisting to develop the talents of young people of Wales in the arts, science and technology.
The Company’s origins began in November 1990 when 148 Welsh men and women who were members London Livery Companies were invited to a meeting in Cardiff at which it decided to form the Welsh Livery Guild as a specially authorized Friendly Society which would be organized to follow the procedures, customs and practices of London Livery Companies.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth graciously granted the Guild its Charter of Incorporation on 15 May 2013. The Charter took legal affect when sealed by the Crown Office at the House of Lords on 6th September 2013.
