The formula worked and Women in the City is now an award-winning organisation that <em>promotes, recognises and rewards female achievement<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Its <a title=\"Annual Celebration Lunch\" href=\"http:\/\/www.citywomen.co.uk\/index.php\/annual-celebration-lunch-women-in-the-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Annual Celebration Lunch<\/a> which is held on the last Friday in November at Plaisterers&#8217; Hall in the heart of the City of London attracts hundreds of guests &#8211; female and male.<\/p>\n<p>Women in the City&#8217;s Awards Programme currently consists of 2 major awards<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Future Leaders Award\" href=\"http:\/\/www.citywomenflaward.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Future Leaders Award<\/a>: <em>identifying high-potential women at the point of transition from manager to leader<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In 2006 WiC launched the<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Women in the City\" href=\"http:\/\/www.citywomenwoaaward.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Woman of Achievement Award<\/a>: <em>that<\/em> r<em>ecognised C-suite and partner level women who are actively promoting the progress of women in their organisations<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2013, Women in the City published Project Diamond, a handbook for career-focused women.<\/p>\n<p>Women in the City&#8217;s community offers a unique <a title=\"Reach our Community\" href=\"http:\/\/www.citywomen.co.uk\/index.php\/women-in-the-city-sponsors\/community\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">channel to market<\/a> for sponsors, brand partners and supporters alike.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Women in the City\" href=\"http:\/\/www.citywomen.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"follow WomenInTheCity\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/womeninthecity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Follow on Twitter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In August 2003, I decided to hosted a Lunch to bring together women working in the City of London.\u00a0 On the last Friday in November 200 women shared experiences, heard a motivating and inspirational speaker and had fun!
