My Election Address outlines my personal background, my professional experience and how I believe I can contribute to the Civic Team in 2018-19. It has already been circulated to Liverymen via their Livery Companies and a copy wil be placed on every seat in Guildhall on the day of the election.
Sheriffs in other parts of the country are appointed. By having an election the City of London is unique. Liverymen are invited to attend Common Hall which is held in Guildhall, Gresham Street, EC2 on Monday 25 June. People begin to gather in Guildhall Yard from around 10.30am. Everyone (around 1500 people) has to be seated by 11.45am after which the Lord Mayor and other officials process into Guildhall. Each candidate will give a short presentation after which Liverymen are invited to cast their vote by raising a hand for their preferred candidate. Each Liveryman has 2 votes and it is customary to cast one for the Aldermanic Sheriff and one for the non-Aldermanic Sheriff.
