In September 2017, I announced that I was standing as a non-Aldermanic Shrieval Candidate for 2018-19.
The Election was held on Monday 25 June 2018. Unfortunately, I was not successful, but the experience was interesting. I met many wonderful people along the way, was the guest of Liverymen and Livery Companies at a variety of dinners and lunches (the exercise regime has started already!) and I had the support of amazing Liverymen and business associates.
My heartfelt thanks to my Campaign Chairman, Rt Hon Sir Tony Baldry DL, my Agent, Michael Vaughan Cooper and the members of the Campaign Team.
I’d like to thank each and every voter, many of whom were unknown to me, together with my supporters within and beyond the City. Following the Election I received many emails some congratulating me on my speech at Guildhall other commiserating with my defeat. They all meant a great deal.
I wish the Shrieval Team 2018-19, Alderman Vincent Keavney and The Hon Liz Green a happy and successful year ahead.
