In August 2003, I decided to hosted a Lunch to bring together women working in the City of London. On the last Friday in November 200 women shared experiences, heard a motivating and inspirational speaker and had fun! The formula worked and Women in the City is now an award-winning organisation that promotes, recognises and rewards female achievement.
Its Annual Celebration Lunch which is held on the last Friday in November at Plaisterers’ Hall in the heart of the City of London attracts hundreds of guests – female and male.
Women in the City’s Awards Programme currently consists of 2 major awards
- Future Leaders Award: identifying high-potential women at the point of transition from manager to leader
In 2006 WiC launched the
- Woman of Achievement Award: that recognised C-suite and partner level women who are actively promoting the progress of women in their organisations
To celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2013, Women in the City published Project Diamond, a handbook for career-focused women.
Women in the City’s community offers a unique channel to market for sponsors, brand partners and supporters alike.
